The Diplomat Aero mechanical pencil has an anodized aluminum body with deep lengthwise grooves running along the barrel. The black finish is uniform across the surface, letting the silhouette and groove pattern do the visual work. Subtle shifts in reflection define the edges and channels rather than color contrast.
To advance the lead, rotate the barrel. Diplomat has produced writing instruments in Germany since 1922, and this pencil is made at their production site in Cunewalde, Saxony. Yafa Brands is the exclusive North American distributor for Diplomat. A five-year manufacturer warranty applies.
