What is the Dedalo limited edition, and how many were made?
The Dedalo is a limited edition of 188 fountain pens worldwide, each individually numbered. The pen is hand-turned from deep-black special resin, and the labyrinth pattern that gives the line its name — Dedalo, from Daedalus, architect of the Cretan labyrinth — is precision diamond-cut engraved directly into the resin. The same motif is repeated across the face of the 14K gold nib. Once the 188 pieces are accounted for, the edition is closed.
What comes in the box?
The Dedalo ships in a Maiora presentation box with a custom Dedalo sleeve. Inside you will find an ink converter and a full-size bottle of ink, so the pen is ready to fill from the moment you open it. The converter allows you to draw ink directly from any bottled fountain pen ink, and the pen also accepts standard international ink cartridges when you want a quicker change.
What ink does this pen take, and what can I order as a replacement?
The Dedalo accepts standard international ink cartridges and works with an ink converter for bottled ink. It also supports eyedropper filling. When you need a replacement, Yafa stocks Private Reserve international-size ink cartridges and Private Reserve bottled fountain pen ink, both compatible with this pen's filling system.
What is the nib, and where is the pen made?
The nib is a JoWo #6 14K gold nib in a dark ruthenium finish, with the Dedalo labyrinth motif diamond-cut engraved across its face. The stamp visible on the nib reads MAIORA / 14K-585. The pen is handcrafted in Naples, Italy, by a team anchored by over 40 years of experience in the creation of valuable writing instruments. Maiora was established in Naples in 2018 by Nino Marino.
