How does the Everest Demo Black fill with ink?
The Everest Demo Black uses a fixed Mega Piston filling system and fills directly from a bottled ink. The Mega Piston holds 5 ml of ink. Because the barrel is transparent acrylic, you can watch the ink level rise and see exactly how much remains at any point. A full-size bottle of Maiora blue ink is included in the box, so you can fill the pen straight away.
What nib is on the Everest Demo Black, and who makes it?
The Everest Demo Black carries an oversized #8 14K solid gold nib paired with an ebonite feed, and Maiora makes both in-house in Naples. The #8 size is larger than the nibs found on many fountain pens, and the ebonite feed is chosen for its ink-flow characteristics. The 24K gold-plated fittings frame the section where nib and feed meet.
What comes in the box with this pen?
The Everest Demo Black is supplied in a cloth-bound presentation box together with a full-size bottle of Maiora blue ink. The pen itself carries an individual number on the base of the cap, expressed as a fraction out of 188, confirming its place in the limited edition. Everything you need to start writing is included.
This is a limited edition — how limited, and how is the numbering shown?
The Demo Black edition is limited to 188 pieces worldwide. Each pen is individually numbered on the base of the cap, shown as a fraction out of 188, so you can see exactly which piece you hold. Once the edition sells through, Maiora produces no further Demo Black Everest pens in this configuration.
Where is the Everest Demo Black made?
The Everest Demo Black is handcrafted in Naples, Italy. Maiora was established there in 2018 by Nino Marino, and the team behind the brand brings over 40 years of collective experience in the creation of valuable writing instruments. Yafa Brands is the official US distributor.
