The Thalassa pen is hand-turned from a solid rod of Italian resin and made in Italy. Today's Nettuno pens are manufactured in Naples by Maiora Pen Company. Layered blue tones give Thalassa the movement and depth of open water; the finish makes the pen expressive without losing the polished restraint expected from an Italian writing instrument. Nettuno's documented history traces to Bologna in 1911, when founder Umberto Vecchietti used the city's Neptune fountain as the symbol for the brand.
How does the cap work, and can I post it while writing?
The cap is threaded and takes 1.5 rotations to open fully. It is postable, so you can place it on the back of the pen while writing. A threaded cap holds more securely than a friction fit and protects the rollerball tip when the pen is not in use. The cap finial carries an engraving with the brand name, model name and serial number.
What refill does this rollerball take, and what can I order when I need a replacement?
The N-E 2.0 Thalassa rollerball accepts a standard international capped rollerball refill. When you need a replacement, Yafa stocks the Schmidt 888, a standard capped ceramic rollerball refill, under item number SC58111. Yafa also stocks a metal-tube equivalent, the Schmidt 5888, as SC58104. Both are compatible replacements. Order either directly from Yafa using those item numbers.
