The fountain pen is the most expressive N-E 2.0 writing option. Its engraved JoWo #6 nib lets the ink show natural shading and character, while the cartridge and converter system gives the writer a choice between standard international ink cartridges and bottled fountain pen ink. What nib sizes does the Leviatano fountain pen come in?
The N-E 2.0 Leviatano fountain pen is available in eight nib sizes: Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub 1.1, Stub 1.5, Flex Extra Fine and Flex Fine. All eight use an engraved JoWo #6 fountain pen nib. Select the size at the time of purchase — the nib size you order is the one the pen ships with, so if you write with a light hand and small script, Fine or Extra Fine is the practical choice; if you use flexible nibs regularly, both Flex options are on the same page.
Does the pen come with a converter, or do I need to buy one separately?
A converter is included in the box, so the pen is ready to use with bottled fountain pen ink straight away. The N-E 2.0 Leviatano also accepts standard international ink cartridges if you prefer that format. When you need a replacement cartridge, any standard international ink cartridge will fit. Both options are available without additional accessories from the box — the converter is the only accessory confirmed as included.

Leviatano uses shifting grey tones for a balanced, understated look. The neutral palette highlights the turned material and works equally well in professional settings or a curated pen collection. The barrel and cap are hand-turned from a solid rod of Italian resin, so the grey tones read differently under different light. It is not a painted or coated surface — the colour runs through the resin itself.
How does the cap work, and can I post it while writing?
The cap is threaded and takes 1.5 rotations to open fully. It is postable, so you can attach it to the back of the pen while writing. The cap finial carries an engraving of the brand name, model name and serial number. If you are used to snap-cap pens, the threaded mechanism adds a couple of seconds to uncapping but keeps the cap secure during storage and transport.
Where is the N-E 2.0 Leviatano made, and what does the name stand for?
Today's Nettuno pens are manufactured in Naples by Maiora Pen Company. N-E stands for Nineteen Eleven, the year Nettuno's documented history traces to Bologna, when founder Umberto Vecchietti used the city's Neptune fountain as the symbol for the brand. The 2.0 denotes the second iteration of the line, released in 2024. In the US, Yafa Brands is the official distributor.
