The fountain pen is the most expressive N-E 2.0 writing option. Its nib lets the ink show natural shading and character, while the cartridge and converter system gives the writer a choice between compatible standard international ink cartridges and bottled fountain pen ink.

The barrel and cap are hand-turned from a solid rod of Italian resin. The cap carries a broad metal band featuring a repeating architectural arch motif, and the cap finial carries the brand name, model name and serial number. The threaded cap opens in one and a half rotations and posts securely. An engraved JoWo #6 nib is available in multiple nib-size options, and a converter is included in the box alongside the pen.

    Nettuno traces its origins to Bologna in 1911 and founder Umberto Vecchietti, who took the city's Neptune fountain as the brand symbol. Today's Nettuno pens are manufactured in Naples by Maiora Pen Company. The N-E 2.0 collection, where N-E stands for Nineteen Eleven and 2.0 marks the second iteration released in 2024, is built around vintage Italian pen design of the early twentieth century. Each pen in the line is made in Italy from Italian resin turned from solid bar. Metal parts are precious-metal plated, and a broad metal band carries a repeating architectural arch motif.
