The Black Lacquer Esteem has a slim cylindrical brass body with softly rounded ends. The high-gloss black surface reads as one continuous field, and reflections travel cleanly along the simple cylindrical shape, giving it a formal, understated look.
This pen takes standard international ink cartridges. A Diplomat plunger converter is also available for use with bottled ink, and the stainless steel nib comes in fine, medium, or broad.

The Diplomat Esteem Black Lacquer takes standard international ink cartridges, and one is included in the box. When the refill runs low, a Diplomat plunger converter is also available, which lets the pen draw ink from a bottle.
